Russ has served with the City of Crown Point for over ten years, six of which with the Crown Point Police Department. As Emergency Communications Manager, Russ manages day-to-day operations in the Emergency Communications Center (CPECC). This center, housed in the Police Department, handles all 9-1-1, emergency and non-emergency calls for service. The CPECC handles other city services such as utility and street concerns, after-hour and animal complaints as well as walk-in citizens with concerns. CPECC dispatches for the city Police / Fire / EMS, and serves as the MABAS Division 207 Communications Center

Renee has served with the Crown Point Police Department since 1997. From 1997until 2005, Renee worked as a dispatcher in the Crown Point Emergency Communications Center. In 2005, Renee was promoted to Office Manager andAdministrative Secretary. Renee’s duties range from handling all purchase orders,uniform allowance and citation processing to daily clerical activities
Sergeant Dave Benson has served with the Crown Point Police Department since 1988. Since then, Dave has held the positions of Telecommunications Officer, General Service Officer, Patrolman, Corporal and now holds the rank of Sergeant. Dave has many current duties. He is the Training Coordinator for the Department and a Certified Instructor for Firearms, EVO (driving) and DARE. Dave also is a supervisor of the Patrol Division and Motorcycle Division and is also tasked with evidence storage. Dave is a graduate of Merrillville High School, Indiana University, The Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and the Police Executive Leadership Academy. Dave resides in Crown Point with his family and enjoys being part of this community.

Jason Maupin is a 15 year veteran of the Crown Point Police Department after receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University Northwest in 1993. He has performed various functions throughout the department including Patrol Officer, becoming a member of the Motorcycle Division, working in Investigations, instructing Emergency Vehicle Operations, managing the Evidence/Property Room, and his current assignment of Patrol Commander. As the Patrol Commander, he has worked toward instilling professionalism in the Officers he works with along with trust and compassion toward the Citizens of Crown Point and all of those served.

Len is currently the Operations Commander for the Crown Point Police Department. As part of his duties Len, is responsible for the supervision of the Investigations Unit and Desk Sergeant. Prior to this, Len has served as a patrol officer, patrol shift supervisor, detective and detective supervisor.Len graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and has since received extensive training and education in various aspects of criminal investigations and forensics. He is a Charter Member of the Donald L. Melcher FOP Lodge 176 and past president. Len is also a former U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant with 11 years service having served during both the Vietnam and Gulf wars.Len is a member of FOP Lodge 176, Vietnam Veterans of America, American Legion, Knights of Columbus and is an Honorary Alumnus of St. Mary's College of Orchard Lake, Michigan.During his career with the Crown Point Police Department, Len has been recognized for his service in law enforcement with an Award of Excellence from the police department and Commendations from the U.S. Air Force. He was also recognized by the 113th Engineer Battalion of the Indiana Army National Guard for his dedication and assistance to them during Operation Iraqi Freedom III.
Jim Janda has served with the Crown Point Police Department since July, 1997. Jim has worked in Patrol, the Detective Bureau, as a Field Training Officer, and has been the FTO Supervisor. Prior to working in Crown Point, Jim worked at New Chicago Police Department and left the department.as a Corporal before coming to Crown Point.
